Chandra's Butterfly's

Chandra loves all bugs ("except mosquitos and spiders").  She is always searching for bugs and worms and sneaking them into the house. She got a butterfly house from her Grandpa Rob and Grandma Sue for her birthday, and Shaylee and Glade gave her 5 caterpillars.  They were the best presents!  We loved watching them eat, grow, change into chrysalises, and then emerge as butterfly's. We've had them for a few weeks now, and let them go today. Such great pets!

After they took off Chandra happily chased the butterfly's and then waved goodbye to them.

Playing in the Mud

Mylie, Stetson and Tuff got to stay and play at our house overnight.  Melissa and Steve had already made plans to go to the temple and for me to watch Zedek that night, so it was crazy but full of fun around here! The kids decided to dig a big hole in the garden.  It was pretty entertaining to watch them all.  Every time someone yelled "worm!" Chandra ran to grab the worm and collect them all in a bucket.  Zedek followed Tuff all over the yard, laughing at everything Tuff did.  Stetson, Bracken and Mylie stuck to business, digging and digging.  They found a bunch of treasures (marbles and beads) from who knows how many years ago as they were digging.  Then it was time to hose off, scrub shoes, shower or bath, and run a load of laundry before feeding everyone dinner and calling it a night. They had a great time and were so cute and happy!
Tuff is super full of energy but so sweet and careful with the babies.
Chandra loves worms and bugs.  She was so happy to have a whole container full of worms.

She loves these mud boots, hand-me-downs from my brothers.

A pretty impressive pile of dirt, don't you think?
Some of the treasures they found.

Super Hero Dress up

They love to play dress up. I especially love it when they create their own costumes. :)

RIchfield Fun!

We spent the weekend in Richfield with all my family (except Ryan on his mission).  Even both sets of Grandparents joined us! We celebrated all the birthday's, anniversary's, and  graduations of April and May.
Grandpa Rudy, Grandma Ginger, and Kinsey
We always spend a lot of time in the kitchen when we're all together, but it works out because everyone chips in to help plan, cook and clean...or just to snitch. :)

Caleb and Linsy brought this little table up for Kinsey to play with.  She loves being able to stand up and feels so big and proud of herself.  I think she's a doll.
Bubble fun with cousins, aunts and uncles.
Seth and the brother-in-laws were very busy all weekend creating a furnace, bellows (see mom's blow dryer and the pvc pipe), getting scraps of aluminum from a junk yard, and then melting it down, getting rid of the impurities, and forming them into ignots. Then they created molds out of sand and styrofoam of a dagger, a gun and arrowheads.  Sadly their container leaked at the very end of the whole process and they lost all the purified aluminum in the dirt except enough to make an arrowhead...but they had a great time in the process.  Brian was busy studying most of the weekend for his Step 1 Test.  But he took a few short breaks to hang out with all of us.
Linsy made these stick horses for the kids.  She's so crafty!  Bracken's can be a cowboy horse, a knight's horse, or a pirate horse (complete with eye patch, earing, dreadlock beads and a bandana), Chandra's is a Frozen unicorn.  It is Elsa blue, silver and white, with snowflake decorations.  Kylie, Bracken and Chandra had a great time playing with their new horses over the weekend and ever since we came home.  Thanks Linsy!
The 5 cute Grandkids!

Shay's Graduation

Shaylee graduated with her Master's in accounting!  We are so proud of her.  I've absolutely loved having her work so close to us these last two years so she could just come over for lunch or join us at the park every once in a while.  I'm sad that her new job takes her farther away from us, but am excited for her new opportunities.  We love you Shaylee!!
We went to a KFC lunch at the park to celebrate with Shaylee before her graduation.  It rained a little bit, but didn't stop the kids from playing.  Grandpa Clay took Chandra on a ladybug hunt (and I think they found 4 ladybugs), and Bracken and Chandra found these huge leaves they used as natural umbrellas.  Silly kiddos!

May the Fourth Be with You

We were invited to our neighbors "May the Fourth Be With You" party.  Bracken was so excited, and wanted to dress up.  Since he's never seen Star Wars he was asking me all sorts of questions about what star wars people look like. We pulled up pictures on the internet and he decided to be Obi Wan Kanobi. He worked on his costume and k'nex light saber most of the day.  The best part was that he filled the light saber with green glow sicks, so it really glowed as it got darker.  He's so creative!
I think Bracken's favorite part of the evening was when they handed out about 30 cut-in-half pool noodles decked out as light sabers, and let the kids go crazy smacking each other. They went bezerk!  Amazingly there were no tears, and lots of shrieking and laughing.  Such a fun night.
